This page explains what personal data Baizely League collects, why, and how it's handled, on this website and in the Baizely League app. For cookies on the website, see our cookie policy.
You can browse public league standings, fixtures and results without an account. We only collect the following when you create an account, are added to a league, or use the features described.
| Data | Where it comes from | Why we hold it |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | Provided when you create an account, or by an admin inviting you. | Signing you in (including one-time sign-in codes) and account recovery. |
| Name | Provided by you, or entered by a league admin or captain adding you as a player. | Showing standings, fixtures, results, tournaments and player stats. |
| Account ID | Created automatically when you create an account. | Linking your account to your leagues, roles and devices. |
| Match & frame results | Entered by captains, players and league admins as matches are played. | Running the league — standings, stats and player ratings. |
| Device notification token and device name | Created by the app when you sign in on a phone. | Sending sign-in approval and match notifications to your phone, and listing your registered devices in Account settings. |
| Live match video and audio | Only when you choose to stream a match from the app's camera. | Showing the match live to viewers, and keeping a recording that can be replayed for a limited time. |
A player's name, team and match/frame results are public by design — that's the point of the service, and matches how league results are traditionally shared (a results sheet on the pub wall). Live match streams and their recordings can be watched by visitors to that league. Email addresses, account IDs and device details are never shown publicly; they're only visible to that account holder and site administrators.
We rely on legitimate interest to display public league results (the same basis a printed results sheet or a club noticeboard would rely on), and on your consent or a contract with your league/venue for account data like your email address. If you were added as a player by a captain rather than signing up yourself, that's done on the basis of your league's legitimate interest in running its competition. Streaming a match is always your choice.
We keep account and match data for as long as your league stays active on the platform, plus a reasonable period afterwards for historical standings and records. Match recordings are kept for a limited time (currently 14 days) and then deleted automatically.
You can delete your account at any time from Account settings, on the website or in the app — see how to delete your account. That permanently removes your login, email address, registered devices and saved streaming settings; match results and player records stay with their leagues as part of the league's history, no longer connected to you.
We don't sell personal data. Data is stored on our own servers, and the app uses Google Firebase Cloud Messaging solely to deliver notifications to your phone. Neither receives your data for any other purpose, and nothing is passed to anyone else except where the law requires it.
The Baizely League app shows adverts from Google AdMob on the league list and public league screens (never on sign-in, account, captain, scoring or streaming screens). The website shows Google AdSense adverts at the bottom of public league, tournament and information pages. To show and measure adverts and prevent fraud, Google collects your device's advertising ID, your IP address (used to estimate your general location), how you interact with the app and adverts, and basic app performance information. In the UK, EEA and Switzerland, Google asks for your consent before showing personalised adverts, and you can change your choice from “Ad privacy settings” in the app. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings. We never pass your account details to Google. See how Google uses information from apps and sites that use its services.
All data is encrypted in transit between your device and our servers.
You can ask to see, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you at any time. Get in touch via our contact page and we'll deal with your request as quickly as we can.
